Luna Luna’s own Alyssa Morhardt-Goldstein just built the treehouse of poetics magazines. Why is it a treehouse? It’s beautiful, odd and unexpected–and it’s a bit high up there. It’s not your ordinary “Oh, so this is a monthly collection of poems,” sort of literary mag. It’s more conceptual, and it embraces the topic of sound and its relation to contemporary poetics.
You always hear musicians say, “my music is poetry,” but it’s not always that you hear poets talk of their language-music. Sometimes poets and writers don’t even consider the musicality of their work and that’s precisely what SOUND Lit Mag‘s editor, Alyssa, is getting at. TOTALLY worth a thorough peruse (and maybe even a musico-poetic submission). Luna Luna’s editor, Lisa Marie Basile even has a piece up over there, as does Luna Luna writer Leah Umansky. We’re a happy, weird little family of poets.
